	UNDERGROUND LAKES

WE WILL GO TO EXPLORE A SPRING IN THE HEART OF THE SARDINIAN INLAND THAT FORMS THREE UNDERGROUND LAKES OF CRYSTALLINE DRINKING-WATER. THE ROUTE ALTERNATES WAYS ON FOOT AND BY SWIMMING.
Underground lakes are located in one of the most suggestive areas of the Supramonte of Oliena. They are the result of thousands of years of erosion by hypogean waters that flow downhill from the Supramonte creating a karstic phenomenon of immense beauty and majesty. In fact the current hydrodynamic action covered the walls of these caves of beautiful calcareous and clayey concretions.
		The entire galleries system explored so far, in the inside of the carbonic massif of the Supramonte, extends for more than 15 kms of which we will cover about 500 mts. The entrance of the caves, where we will swim inside, it is at 140 mts. above sea level and it's dry; however, during the excursion, we will descend at a level about 15-20 mts lower, going across various crystalline lakes.
We will arrive with cars at few meters from the caves. We will wear the diving suit, the diving mask, the gloves and the shoes (without weights because we will be always swimming on the surface). The path inside the cave lasts about a hour and it ends into a 22 meters deep lake. From here it is possible to move on using particular equipment and this is the destination of another excursion Top by Aqua, reserved to underwater speleologist.
		Maximum attention is needed walking in the cave because, being not a tourist path, there are no equipped walking aids; there are some openings not too deep, however they may cause dangerous falls and there are no insurances for this specific excursion.
An helmet with a torch is provided that allows you to free your hands. Even children can participate at this excursion, in fact we prepared for them diving suits, shoes and gloves. Instead, they will have to bring tennis shoes they can steep.
		ITINERARY Appointment at 1.30pm, for the equipment distribution, at the sub-marine center, just under the little square of Puntaldia. Departure at 2.00pm with your own car; who doesn't have it can join in the school vehicle. The car trip, that lasts about a hour, goes through a picturesque and suggestive landscape of the Barbagia. Return is expected for dinner.
